Hello,
I currently have a larger fox chip extractor 2hp induction motor style one like this:
http://www.biggersavings.co.uk/catalogu ... r-240v.php
I have just bought a smaller Axi vacuum extractor:
http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ax ... rod794272/
My shop is relatively small (8ft x 20ft), I was planning building a small extension so that the chip extractor could be houses externally and would be used only for the planer thicknesser. I would make a hole in the side of the workshop (only ply) and run the tube through, some modifications to the power so that I could switch it on without going outside.
That would mean that I would use the vacuum inside for the table saw, connect to hand powertools etc.
However I was thinking would it be possible to use the Axi vacuum for everything (including planer thicknesser) and save me the hassle of building an extension to house the larger extractor. Questions:
1. Is this unit powerful enough for a planer thicknesser.
2. Would I spend forever emptying it (I am only really a hobbyist).
Thanks,
Kevin
