Hello

I am curious as to how long kiln dried oak is 'cooked' for and at what temperatures.

The reason is my van (large renault master lwb , dark grey) is now a wood store in the full sun. I have put oak in it to dry with the front windows slightly open and wondered if I was doing the correct thing.

Any ideas ?

Regards

If fresh sawn then best go slowly with the drying at first so you may be cooking it tooo fast. Ideally, should keep a gentle moisture gradient from the centre of the boards to the outer faces. Van in shade wld be better.
