Sorry if this is common knowledge but this discovery meant I have now got a few months supply of glue spreaders. Trying different finishes on scrap wood resulted in going through a lot of those cheap foam brushes.

After one fell apart (again) I noticed the plastic support bit underneath the foam was the ideal shape and size for glue spreading on smaller pieces. While my fingers usually suffice, I have found them even more suitable .. not to mention I don't get sticky bits all over the missus clean kitchen (again).

Maybe everyone else will go "duh" but it was news to me :)

Good use for old ones certainly. Depending on what you're applying with them, these foam brushes can be a one shot product sometimes, so it's good to get some secondary use out of them before they go in the bin!
