Just wondering whether I can get my hands on one of these for a few weeks so that I can see what all the fuss is about.

DON'T you will end up wanting one badly, I know, it takes ages to get the monkey off your back.

:D

A few weeks, I don't know; two weeks, then just buy one and return it for a full refund within 15 days if it doesn't meet your expectations. Used to be 30 days (and still says so on Festool.co.uk, albeit with a broken link) but I'm pretty sure it was changed to 15 days earlier this year; might be worth checking with your dealer of choice before making the purchase, just to be sure.

As if you'll be sending it back, lol... :D

NO, DON'T,STOP AND THINK! THAT SLOPE IS VERY SLIPPERY! There is just no way you will return it.....in fact to coin a phrase 'They will have to pull it from your cold dead hands'

Went to a very brief demo today at vat free day, but only had five minutes :( traffic....daughters swimming lesson!!!!!

Got the guys card, coming to my garage/workshop in a couple of weeks for a one-one demo, how good is that!? But I'll buy before then, and get him to demo me some ROS. Thinking axi for domino and the package of tenons with cutters.

Not sure if they still do it but if you have a Festool rep give you a demo on site he can give you a (I think 5 or 10%) discount voucher to use at your store of choice. He will still demo the other stuff as well.....but you need to buy an extractor as well if you haven't got one.

I have a Domino...I cant begin to calculate how much time I've saved not having to do traditional M&T. First project was a couple of outdoor planters. I thought, it will be interesting to see how it fares in a full on watery outdoors situation with soil and rain etc. Two years on and my rails and styles are as good as the day they were smeared in cascamite.

Also last xmas I built a large guinea pig enclosure for my kids and domino'd all the panels, each of which had Perspex routed into a groove. I assumed we'd put the animals in an outdoor cage in the summer so I didn't glue in the domino's so I could dis-assemble it. We're now approaching a year later and its still only held together by the friction fit of the domino's...and its just fine.

I appreciate its nowt but an oscillating router on its side but those Jerry's have really thought it through. The precision you can get referencing off either the base or the fence is superb. It's an exceptional tool. I haven't used my dedicated mortiser since I bought it!
