SWMBO has gone on at me for ages to make something "shabby chic, you know rough and ready, something that's not quite square, you know what I mean, like badly finished", she said.

I have always been at a loss, that is until the other day when for a laugh I produced this,

She loves it, she even makes a point of showing everyone who visits.........why do I bother

Functional, Rustic, quick to make........
Needs a little notice on the back saying 'My other tea light is a <fill in the gap> :)

Any time your mrs wants something made thats " badly Finished " just give me a call and i will make it for you, i seem to have perfected the art of bad finishing #-o .

Nice rustic look to the tea light holder

The Mrs just looked over my shoulder and said 'That's nice' so you have her approval ! LOL!
My house is full of stuff I have made, unfortunately it's usually more shabby than chic!

It's funny how women will say to you, 'Just throw it together. I don't want anything special.' When they are talking about your hobby/obsession.
SWMBO (who has never been the same since someone dropped a house on her sister) often says that to me.
She's a keen patchworker/quilter and I wonder what her reaction would be if I said the same to her.

You don't need a house mover to that. A good earthquake can accomplish the same thing but it doesn't always end up where you want it.
