Hi all,
Just wondering what sort of price people pay for servicing a condensing oil boiler, including a check of tank and supply line. Looking for a typical figure so I know if I am getting a fair deal.

Had our annual service yesterday
Thorough check of boiler and clean the filter £70

Was £50 3 years ago

I was in hospital nearly four years ago with a plumber who said he charged £80 a service and if if he was lucky and his itinerary worked well he could do eight in a normal eight hour day.

Nozzles actually wear, oil is being forced through it at about 110 PSI, consequently the longer they are installed the more oil they will allow through, which changes all the conditions of it working efficiently and safely.

I wondered about that as well. Our service guy comes once a year and he always changes the nozzle and it's a small cost item so I'm happy for him to do it especially after your explanation above.
