so you throw conkers at the spiders
no no!
Its a well known fact that spiders are avid conker players. They cant resist a game so when they see one they have to stop and have a go.

yes they have 8 chances each..

Where's the problem? Just pick them up and put them out. Poor little things never did any of you any harm.

Sprinkled salt and vinegar works well. they drink the vinigar, get drunk and chuck boulders at each other.

My son in law used to pick them up until he got bitten!

Was he in Australia, or was it an illegal immigrant hitching a ride in some tropical timber ?

Exactly! My OH is scared stiff of the things because his Dad was.... anyway, I just get them in a container and out the door. They do a lot of good eating flies and other bugs.

the wife was moaning about a large one on the wall the other day so i relocated it back to behind the television, where it had ventured from. Didnt seem to pacify her much, so i pointed out the stat about how many you are supposed to eat during your sleep in a lifetime, to put things in perspective. She seemed not to appreciate that story either so i went into the workshop for the evening.

Hi,

2000 spiders in the average house

They have been around since before the dinosaurs, I like them and take photos of them.

It was a British Giant House spider - we are getting quite a few of them scaring my better half at the moment.
Empty jam jar or the use of a spider vac comes to the rescue.

My theory on the conkers thing is that by the time the conkers are ready most spiders have found a dry/warm quiet home so just don't get them coming in anymore.
