My version of Yew Tree Farm (home of Beatrix Potter) painted freehand using a computer painting program painter X5.

I confess I did paint with oils, they are now used as insulation boards holding fibre glass between rafters in loft. :D

The beauty of using a computer to paint is you can use layers so each thought and process is on a separate layer and can be modified or deleted etc.etc.

I have spent a lot on those painter programs over the years, but they are convenient to use, no workroom needed, less storage space, and if anyone wants to start there are many free trial programs around and tutorials. Even basic image apps using a pencil tool produces great pictures and they can be free.

Watched a tutorial yesterday on how to draw cartoons, it started with a photograph from a newspaper cloned and then turned into a cartoon using layers and basically putting in moustaches, hair styles etc.etc.
 
That is really good John, when I eventually get around to using this program I will show you my efforts (probably by PM because there is noway I will be as good as yourself).

Years ago I painted in watercolours, brought on by the lovely Hanna Gordon and Watercolour Challenge.
