Cleaning resin/sap from rollers on thicknesser

Hello all
Using my planer thicknesser today and it was leaving black marks and getting a bit stuck at times, the pine was coming out dirty looking.
I think the wood i put through it was a little sappy.
Looking at the rubber rollers they need a good clean.
What do you all use on the rubber rollers? Was thinking acetone or will that eat the rubber?

I use Mr Muscle widow and glass cleaner on saw blades etc, but I would try it on a small area of the roller first just in case.

Acetone shouldn't eat the rubber. It is commonly used in the rubber lining industry to clean rubber before gluing. But as Pete said , just try a small area first.

Whether acetone will attack rubber really depends on the material. Unlike in the old days anything rubbery isn't just rubber (vulcanised latex). Sometimes it is all natural, but these days there are a few synthetics and very often a blend of the two is used.
