I've just got a packet of Clarke's 24 TPI pinned scrollsaw blades. They're very deep: the distance from the teeth to the back of the blade is 3/32"!
Absolutely no good for cutting jigsaws, segmentation, intarsia, portrait work, etc (we know that Carter J. cuts his jigsaws with blades thinner than light bulb filaments).
But for straight lines...WOW!
They have to be the answer for those people who have trouble cutting straight lines. You have to force yourself not to cut a straight line with these. If you can't cut a straight line with these blades, you shouldn't go anywhere near a scrollsaw-just dig out the old tenon saw...

I'd concur with that. I've used them for years. Total rubbish for doing intricate work but for straight line and gentle curves, they are great.
They may be useful to Tony who opened another thread about cutting curves.
