Hi guys

I'm looking to buy a chuck and I'm currently looking at the Robert Sorby Patriot. Some sites seem to refer to it as a patriot chuck, others call it a companion chuck and some say compatriot.

Is the patriot and companion just one and the same thing?

Yes Jamie its the same chuck I have found Poolwood to be the cheapest place to buy where abouts in Scotland are you

Thanks!

It's poolewood's ebay shop I'm considering buying through as the patriot chuck on there is only £105 with £7.99 delivery! The cheapest I could find it elsewhere is £160. Poolewood refer to it as a companion chuck in some sales and patriot in others so I wanted to make sure I wasn't buying the wrong chuck. I just can't believe the difference in price!

I'm from Dumfries and Galloway.

Poolewood just replied to me on eBay to say that the companion chuck is the patriot chuck without jaws supplied. That now explains why it was so cheap!

Just waiting on a price for the full chuck now!

Four days ago, I had an email from RS offering a Patriot for £159.60 c/w the usual 2" jaws and screw chuck, and also with a 7/8" steb chuck to fit the Patriot - effectively, a free steb chuck worth around £40.

I've never used a steb chuck myself, but some people love them, so it may be worth getting in touch with some stores and see if they're doing this deal - or even contact RS yourself.

If you PM me your address, I'll forward the email.

Duncan
