Chop saw no working ???

Hi folks I have a 300 mm Macalistar cross cut mitre saw however it has stopped working today.

When you fire up the saw the motor turns and powers up as you can hear it working and sound normal.

However the blade does not turn it at all and you can turn blade by hand when the saw is not turned on.

I have tried to strip it down but cannot get into the motor head where it meets the blade I think some thing must have come undone or sheared off.

Any advice welcomed as I could not find a parts diagram on the net showing how it goes together.

The manufacturer of most macalister stuff is GMC which might help find some details.

There is normally a speed reducing gear between the armature and the blade arbour. Sounds rather like one gear or the other has sheared.
