Time for the long awaited clearout to start. I've a couple of boxes to go but I've found 135 that I don't use so far - so if you need chisels, keep an eye on the For Sales now.

No - 135

Is that all?
I think I have more.
Someone gave me 15 last week!
I just can't say no

Edit: On thinking about it, I doubt I have that many I don't use so you win!

I suspect a severe case of car-bootitis. "Well, for 50p it would have been rude to refuse" a hundred and thirty-five times.

A thoroughly good thing too. Some decent tools didn't get consigned to the tip, and will now be made available to people who will appreciate and use them.

Nice one, Phil!

135? Well, I just stopped feeling guilty about my ebay purchase history. Any bevel-edged butt chisels in there? :D

think the bottom is about to fall out of the fleabay chisel market

It shouldn't make too much difference here, as I'm not expecting daft money - many will only be £1 - £5 (there are some I'll want a bit more for :D ) and obviously I can combine P&P if people want more than one item. That's often the killer on cheap purchases. I've also some other bits, coping saws. 803 drills, a couple of small vices that I wasn't intending to bundle up with other things but it makes sense to do so for the cost of P&P. I just no longer have the luxury of more space than needed and have an increasing awareness that my life is not infinite.

I shall measure them with a metric vernier as that is what I have (I'm not going to get micrometers out for chisels :) ) although most will be imperial sizes, as I don't necessarily know what anyone else has done to them before I owned them and I don't want people coming back moaning their chisel was 1/32" undersized. The majority have had their backs/faces (call them what you will :) ) cleaned off to show that there is no pitting and to make them easy to polish if that's what floats your boat. I am not going to grind them as it would be a pointless waste of steel for me to grind an angle that someone else immediately wants to change - e.g. a few have long grinds, there's no point in my taking them back to normal only for the buyer to grind back long. Similarly one or two are out of square - it might bother you, it might not. I haven't cleaned off handles, my life is too short. It will take a few days to run, so I think if anyone wants something they can PM me when they see something they want and post right away that the item is spoken for (otherwise I'll drown in a sea of PMs.) then leave I'll leave it until everything is done to work out total cost and P&P. I won't expect payment until your goods are packed and weighed ready to go. If anyone can see an improvement on the method feel free to say. I will probably start tomorrow.
Mods - if you can see any obvious flaw or contravention (or better ideas :D ) can you PM me please.

I have enough already.
I have enough already.
I have enough already.
I have enough already.
I shall watch with interest. Good Luck.

Nonsense! no one can have enough... except me, I've too many. :D
I think I must be doing OK in my parallel universe - there are a several gone already, and someone has made an enquiry for ten or twelve. Smart guy. :D
