I am ready to build a chess board..20 years into my ambitions
I know the theory but have a few questions
I intend to make it from 15-20mm thick timbers (it will have a base and pull out shelves) so thickness is open to debate, but veneer is not exciting me
i have mahogany and oak readily available but happy to source alternatives
last time i tried to glue these they was not the strongest joint in my opinion
I used titebond original
is there a better option glue? i could drop a few dominos in if you think would help?

any ideas ?

Steve

A titebond glue joint should be stronger than the wood that it's holding together.

I wonder if a wipe with acetone before gluing would help ? I epoxied a couple bits of utile together today. Almost forgot to wipe down first- was surprised at the amount of grime on the white rag I'd used.
