Cherry stain needed, to be covered with water-based varnishH

Hello all,

As the above states, I need a Cherry coloured stain to go underneath a water-based varnish. The timber is Pine.

Can anyone help? Cheers_Dan.

It quite difficult o make cherry looked with pine. You can get the color with stain but you can mimic the grain of the cherry wood.
To colored your pine wood you can use a purple dark stain. The purple stain will blend with the yellow color of pine to make a dark brown color.
Try on some pieces of wood until you get the right stain accord in to your need.
