Just received some bags to fit my Festool CTL Midi extractor from www.dustbag.co.uk - half the price of official ones.
Made of sturdy material, no loss of suction.
Obviously I'll report back if they explode, otherwise a nice little saving.

Just out of interest to the bags maintain the level of filtration the genuine ones do?

Cheers,

Jon.

Nothing on the website or packaging to suggest that they do...
If I was machining a lot of MDF or sanding down old paint I wouldn't want to rely on them.

Fair point :)

For larger particles they are a good saving :) What do you pay for a box of 5 genuine ones?

Cheers,

Jon.

I've recently started using those zip-up re-usable Festool bags. Over time it's a decent cost saving, but man does it make bag emptying into a filthy, dusty job!

I got a 5 pack of CT MIDI ones with zips off Amazon over a year ago and I'm still on the first bag. I'd guess at at least 10 refills so far and it's way easier than emptying the Festool one by shaking everything out of the inlet hole :)

If think I must be missing something, pack of five Mini bags 13.99 plus 1.99 p&p versus 14.19 free post from FFX.

I use a Thien baffle before the shop vac.
In addition, I use a mini cyclone before the Thien baffle to prevent ash mixing with dust & shavings when I vacuum out the wood burner.
In over two years use the shop vac bag collected about a desert spoon of fine dust when I opened it up last week ... of course I resealed the bag.
