Does anyone know of a tried and trusted method of brining an old cast iron table saw top back to life.
Although not rusty the top is showing signs have not having had any TLC for a while.

The saw was used in an educational establishment but has been neglected. #-o #-o #-o

The first thing i would check is the "flatness " of the table top and adjoing wings, if they are warped or dished you may be wasting your time. As you have pointed out, it may have had a hard life so make sure the machine is sound before you consider works.

That said, a photo would be of use. Contributors will then be able to offer advice based on your requirements and expectations.
