Anyone know what the easiest way to remove unwanted beeswax finish from a profiled bannister is. We have been advised to use a cabinet scraper then a sander on the few steps that were done but are unsure how to go about removing the wax from the profiled bannister?

could you enclose a section, then use a wallpaper steamer and a cloth to wipe it off? a cloth each end of a piece of pipe (cut in half lengthways to get it on) would do and would be quick. Alternatively, a gooseneck cabinet scraper? how much is there to do?

Liquid paint stripper, whatever they call Nitromors these days?

Bannister is probably 6 metres long. We will be applying osmo polyix hard wax oil after its been removed and sanded back

Sorry marcros, we have no power so would be running the steamer off a generator. I do have ducting normally used for electricity cables which I could slice length ways?
