I started this box a while ago as apresent for my niece who is having a first baby.

It is now finished.

I had to order the hinges from Rockler as I needed two 60lb hinges, they came in just over a week.



They are the torsion hinges which will keep the lid from falling down and trapping any small fingers in the future.

SWMBO applied her artistic talent to the lid.

Looks a nice piece of work...any particular reason why the panels are orientated in different directions? - Rob

Yes the top is pyrographed

No theres no reason other than I didn't stop to think...good point though must remember next time
