bowl blunder

I told you I just starting!!!!! it should have ended up something like this.

The rim was not glued to the main bowl body face to face, but (why I don't know) I turned a spigot/tennon and recess. When I tried to hollow out the inside ( THIS I CANNOT DO) so many digings I could plant potatoes, plus loosing it off the chuck a couple of times.
So when breaking through on the inside from rim to main body
(on a angle) I could not achieve a clean edge. The inside was not running
true to the outside, not by much but enough to spoil the piece.
So it ended up like this

davol, you really need to sort out what is going wrong on the internal bowl gouge front, you are way ahead of many of us on the preparation of your segment work it is a shame you are falling at the hollowing fence.

Can you give us an indication of your location to see if another member can help on the tool use front.

Not a bad rescue in the end, without the tale of woe we would not have been any the wiser.

Chas, thanks for the all too true comments regarding my internal turning technique. I live in Hitchin, north herts area. I have looked for clubs in this area,but with little luck. If any one can help in this respect or other tuition locally I would be most grateful.

Sorry about your bowl, I have the same problem with doing the inside of the bowls to but am getting deeper and deeper as I get more practice.
