Hi guys.

New to the forum. Been lurking around for a while and there is some really inspirational stuff here.

I'm just in the process of building some MFC bedroom cabinets and have used BLUM metabox drawers.
I have used MFC bottoms and backs and everything is lined up square.

I have installed the drawer runners using the BLUM minifix jig and they are perfectly square to the cabinet - but everydrawer front kicks out at the bottom with a 1-2mm gap.

I can't see any adjustment for this other than by tilting the runners to compensate.

Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

Thanks.
David.

As far as I know there isn't an adjustment for tilt on those. You can adjust them when they are the taller pan drawer type with the side rails. You just turn the rails and this pushes or pulls the top of the drawer front in or out. I think you will have to do it by moving the runners.

Make sure you have seated the boxes properly and double check your runners are level. I've never had a problem with normal height drawers its usually the taller pan drawers.

I've just fitted some tandem runners with dovetail boxes and they did have tilt. On the rear of the runner there's a little adjuster you turn to raise or lower the runner. I've not seen that on the metabox ones though

This is the problem with Metbox. The draw runs level and then as it is almost closed the simple side mount based runner tilts down to hold the draw closed. As the back tilts down the bottom of the draw face kicks out, the shorter the draw the worse the problem.

Thanks guys.

Exactly as I thought. I'll adjust the drawer runners to compensate.

Seems like a pretty poor system and kind of negates the use of the jig.

Thanks.

To be honest its ok I've not had a problem with it. The tandem ones seem much better though if you're using drawer boxes. Also they take about 1 second to remove a drawer with the locking devices.
