Hello,

I'm planning on getting some Blum Antaro drawer boxes from M&D and getting the bases cut by my local Avon Plywood. I've never done a Blum drawer before.

When I look at the companies that sell them with pre-cut MFC bases, they list them as 16mm thick.

Avon Plywood has ply and MFC in 15mm or 18mm thick. Can I assume that the 15mm will fit/work fine?

I'd prefer to use steel backs but haven't found them in white yet.

Thanks
Dave

15mm will work, however you will have a 1mm gap between the base and the start of the drawer side, this could be avoided by putting a 1mm packer strip under the base.
The backs should be 16mm as well but all you have to do is add 1mm on the base depth.

16mm is designed for veneers. You can use 18mm and rebate it to 16mm.
