BLO won't cure

I gave a couple of oak stools their last coat of BLO (for a while) a week ago and they are still tacky. Am I being impatient or is something wrong? If I did just put too much on what's the solution? Wait or do something? If something, what thing?

With most oils if you put too much on and don't remove the excess within 10mins or so you end up with a stick mess. You will have to cut it back with something like a Scotchbrite pad (not wire wool on oak) and re coat.
