See the sticky thread at the top of the scroll saw section. There are tables there that you can download showing the blades available from various manufacturers and details of where to buy them; also a table showing which type/size blade to use on which materials and sizes.
But I think that when first starting out, most people, myself included, tend to use such info as a starting point and as their experience develops tend to make their own choices of favourites depending on what they've found suits them personally.

I have no problems cutting 1/4 inch ply with Niqua 1, 3 or 5. Saw is a Delta 40-560
