Decided to build a decent work table as I 've been making some big signs recently 35" plus- never made anything before but thought I would have a try----the table has grown into a proper bench with vices , sliding bench stop and soon to be bench dogs and clamps --- probably will never use any of these things but I had loads of Ply- MDF and veneered stuff along with 14 off "legs" and was becoming a hoarder.

Anyway bench almost there , one bolt being a sod----but the question is , do you finish the bench top? or leave it bare wood. I have some Beeswax( home made),Beeswax (bought )some Varnish and some made up Shellac 4lb cut--- which ( if any) would be the best to use?
Thanks
John
