Stock building involves not just making new pieces but in some cases renovating ones that have been made for a while. I use a lot of green, damaged wood and so leave for a while to ensure it is stable before putting up for sale. This one was made from a piece of soft, wormy (all gone) elm and naturally ebonised oak. As the oak had been lying in a skip for donkeys years it needed to dry out thoroughly before gluing up. It is approx 330mm tall and 150mm max. dia. Worm holes / splits etc have been filled with aluminium and the ring between the neck and hollow form gilded.

C+C welcome as always

Pete
