Hi all,
I have a cheap 6" bench grinder, it's a fairly new job with 2 x grey wheels 60 and 80 grit. I decided to buy a white wheel to sharpen my chisels, so removed the coarse wheel, swapped the medium wheel over and fitted the white wheel on the side I wanted, so far so good.....
The new white wheel came with a bunch of white plastic bore reducers which fitted inside one another, but when I came to use the grinder I found it had both side to side wobble and front to back......
I've taken it to pieces and am certain it's the cheapo bushes that are causing the wobble, the inside diameter is 31.75mm and my grinder stub is 12.7mm.
Is it possible to buy a better fitting reducer do you think? As no matter how much I faff about with it, it still wobbles....
Cheers
Nige

Difficult to see how poor bushes would give side to side wobble? Eccentricity might be the bushes or the wheel itself.
Try moving the wheel axially on the shaft and re-tightening.
It would be normal to dress a new wheel to get it perfectly true anyway.

I've solved the problem I hope....
I've bought a better quality grinder......let's hope it lives up to the reviews.....
