Do Ryobi make there own cells? or do they buy them?

If you are stupid enough to hold the power to a stalled drill then you shouldn't be allowed to operate one IMHO.

Not sure, I suspect they buy them, most probably do, which is no bad thing, but it depends where you buy them from.

I do agree with the stalled drill comment, but equally I found it interesting that Ryobi had considered the implications of this.
 
Some 16yrs ago in NZ my bil used a firm that replaced cells in dud batteries, and he said they maintained that 90% of all cells used were either Panasonic or (I believe) Sony, no matter what the quality of the tool. NZ was a testing ground for new Japanese products as it was the nearest fairly small Western type market and full of chippies hence the place was flooded with top class stuff. It was a brilliant cheap place to buy tools.
