Had the idea last night that I would try cutting one of Banksy's Stencil's out of wood, and decided that "That Wood" the knotty pine I got, would be ideal.

So spent some time looking thru some books and online and decided on the below.

This is Work In Progress, I left the bottom section for some words, and I have backing board to do and maybe sorting the edge out on my router.

Hey toesy, that's some pretty good cutting there matey. Nice sharp straight lines and very neat. Well done.

What thickness of pine did you use and what wording will you use?

As an aside - we love the Banksy work and we had the opportunity to see his exhibition at the Bristol Museum in July 2009 . . . no one minded if you took photographs as long as you didn't use flash http://www.pbase.com/no_darkroom/banksy

Great job Toesy. Very clever adaptation.

Did the curly grain of the wood cause you any problems as you were cutting?

I thought it would fall apart, but its held together really well, only one split a an edge, which I may reduce down, if not glue and clamp it.
