Pooka, are you in the trade with an IRISH VAT number or you doing this as a hobby ?
If you do have a VAT number, you can often buy stuff in the UK and have it sent to you - ex VAT. This generally covers the S&H costs therefore reducing the total cost DAMHIKT 8) , saved me loads of dosh over the years.

Hi houtslager. Unfortunately, I don't currently have a VAT number (might do eventually, but that is probably in the distant future right now), so I just have to wince at the amount of the added VAT and hand it over :(

According to the user manual for the Record BS350 at Record Power web site www.recordpower.co.uk the ratings for the Record BS350 are 1100W(P1) and 1450W (P2).
And according to the Jet Tools web site www.jettools.co.uk the JWBS-14 motor rating is P2 0.75hp/s1 100%.

Perhaps someone who understands can make some meaningful comparison based on those figures?
