I know its not turning but i was asked to make some bananas to go with the other fruit and these are the results.
Timbers are Yew,Elm,Ash with that mottled effect,Walnut and Tulip wood.
Having seen these in the skins as it were this evening, must say that they look good enough to eat, although the boss thinks the walnut one is a little over ripe.
The more I look at them the more I realise I'm just looking at a banana shape. Hope you don't mind me asking but how did you end up with the final shape ? Bandsaw, rasps maybe ?
Excellent Paul, I've been asked a time or two if I could make Bananas to go with the fruit that I have turned and I normally tell them to go away!
How have you done these, just hand carved?
I shown them the Mrs and she wants some .
I've made some of these & after roughing out on the bandsaw I used a bobbin sander mounted on the lathe to shape them then hand sanded thro' grits.
A very nice bunch Paul. Well done.
