My car insurance is up for renewal. (no claims over 20 years +)
My brother in law had a bad experience last year, he had a KIA like the Jaguar, from new and only 20K on the clock. A lady forgot to apply her handbrake when she parked and her car rolled into his parked car.
the insurance wanted to write off the car for £1500 at book value, he wanted repair, he would accept the £1500 but could he have claimed from the other party the balance of the repair costs another £1000.
Either privately or using the legal liabilities section of his policy to recover uninsured costs from third party?
So can I look around for a motor insurance policy that pays costs upto a certain value regardless of book value, is there such a thing?
