I have a fairly old (8-10 years) Axminster WV1 dust extractor and lately it seems to short out (Tripp the workshop fuse board ) after I've been using it for a while. Can take 15-45 minutes sometimes. I assume something inside is getting hot and causing some kind of surge.
Ive tried cleaning it and checking the wiring and can't see what the cause is. Any ideas?

Cheers

In the absence of superior knowledge to mine, at the moment, Are the brushes and bearings ok?
Investigating these Would be my first step, Failing that over to the electrical bods.

First blow out all the dust from the motor and switches etc, it could be tripping because of earth leakage.
