I'm having a problem with this new lathe i bought.

When i turn the speed dial down slow to apply sealer/polish it won't speed up again when i turn the dial.
I have to turn it off at the socket for a few minutes, then restart and it's fine.

Anyone had experience off this?

It's only 3 weeks old and its done it 4 times in 20hrs of usage.

Thanks Kev

i would speak to Axminster. You shouldnt need to do that on a 3 week old lathe.

+1. It obviously shouldn't do that. Sounds like a problem with the invertor or possibly the pendant.

Thats unfortunate Kev especially after you giving the Record a bodyswerve due to similar problems.Im sure Axminster will sort it out though

It sounds like the potentiometer is fried, they use such cheap electronic parts. Not only that brand almost all use cheap potentiometers, I had similar challenges on my Vicmarc, I bought a good military spec potentiometer and no more problems.
