Just watched this fascinating piece on the life of Dick Proenneke and how he built a cabin in the wilds of Alaska with just hand tools. A truly gifted carpenter and fit as an Ox at age 51 when this was filmed in 1968. He lived here mostly alone for the next 35 years.
