air rifle stock

Has anyone made a new stock for an air rifle? I've found a few videos on youtube but all pretty poor.

I've aquired an old Diana (junior I think) .177 rifle which needs restoration. Metalwork isn't too much of a problem and it fires ok but the beech stock is badly affected by woodworm and I want to make a replacement in keeping with the original style. Enough is left to easily copy.

Any thoughts would be welcome

It will look better and be much more pleasant to use if you start with a piece of walnut rather than beech.

I've maybe been a bit premature as I'm off on me hols on Friday and so it will be a month before I can start it.
I've decided to copy the existing stock as closely as I can as it's a very old Diana Junior model 22 and looks to be quite scarce. Having said that, I'll probably use timber already in my stock so probably mahogany and if successful then possibly another in beech to get the rifle back to as original condition as possible.

I also have a new and very nice Weihrauch with a synthetic stock and I fancy making a more traditional stock for that. Walnut would be my 1st choice.

At least one of the magazines devoted to air wepons (Air Gunner?) has run a series of articles on custom building stocks in the past. It's been a long time since I looked, I was only looking for a new gun to kill the rats, but one of the mags I bought definately had such an article; which I found of more interrest that most of the rest of the mag Are there not any fora (=forums) for air gunners you could ask?

airgunbbs forum has certainly had some people make them in the past, with a few WIPs I think.

What you need is Dodge's duplicarver with gun stock attachment!

Like you, I can't remember who it was, but somebody definitely posted about a stock he'd made for an Air Arms target gun.

I remember it because it was beautifully made, but I didn't particularly like the rather square section of the forend and said so! Funny how things stick in your memory!
