just seen this i am looking a small compressor for my shed it is so i can paint my model boats with a airbrush it has a littie tank as i have hear that its better t o have one its on this website sgs engineering soulutions its call 6litre oil-free compressor 5.7 cfm 1.5 hp for £ 66.65 any help please

For airbrushing the general consensus is quality over quantity with regards to air. 5.7cfm should be more than enough for most airbrushes and should also handle either fairly expensive ( efficient) or small spray guns.
With air tools everybody focuses on power and CFM because they want the most power to drive the tools properly - in airbrushing you dont need as much volume of air but you will need quality.

This will include a ridiculously long hose for your small shed and a couple of GOOD moisture filters. The air must be cool ( long hose to let it cool and release some of the vapour trapped in it ) clean ( pre filter to catch any small particle the compressor missed ) and dry (moisture trap to remove the last of the vapour that gets trapped when the air is compressed - compressed air heats up and cause condensation when cooling - you dont want this to happen on your models or inside the air line with out a filter our you air line actually starts to spray small droplets of water ) and lastly consistent ( a good pressure regulator will keep the air flow at the same psi with more room for control and adjustment than the one supplied on compressor)

Also a Problem with bigger compressors is "pulsing" so be wary of the tank refilling - when the compressor refills itself and pressure starts to drop off you will get "pulses" of low and high pressure - not by a lot only a few psi difference but often enough to make the airbrush spray a bit uneven or sometimes even spit.

As for the compressor itself the specs sounds reasonable for the money - but it does sound a bit of a cheapie. Shouldnt cause any issues for airbrushing as 6 litres of air will last a fair while on an airbrush - just have a good read -up on setting up airbrushes etc and make sure you have a good air supply to the airbrush.
