Hi Everyone. We all know that as we get more and more into scrolling we need more equipment. I had a large bandsaw that I have just sold. I had it for cutting blanks for wood turning but all that had to go when I moved into a smaller workshop. For cutting up my wood to size and for several other applications I have bought a Dewalt 780 mitre saw, it has a a blade just over 12 inches so I can cut over 4 inch thickness. The advice I am looking for concerns blades, the saw came with a 60 tooth blade but I will be getting a new blade with a lot more teeth for a much finer cut but I have no idea what manufacturer to choose. I don't want a cheap Chiwanese one that will only last 5 minutes so can anyone recommend a quality blade.

I would have a look at Cutting Solutions. How many teeth are you looking for- a 60T is nornmally a fine finish blade isnt it, suitable for veneered sheets etc.

Hi Geoff ,when I was using mitre saws a few years ago I used Frued blades all the time . I have an 80t one in my saw for a while now it will be perfect for your needs IMO.

Thanks Everyone. I got the saw set up a few hours ago and tried it out on some hardwood off cuts and its perfect. The reason I asked the question in the first place was that I had seen some reviews on the Dewalt 780 and most stated that the 60 tooth blade was not really up to joinery standards but for rough cutting onl I am very suprised at this as the cuts I made were pefect with no splintering at all. Thanks again to everyone who replied.
