Advice on bench top band saws please

I am going to buy my first band saw and am looking in the £150 to £300 bracket. It will have to be one of the smaller bench top types in order to fit in my rather small 14' x 8' shed. The choice is confusing without having any previous experience of these machines and so would appreciate any advice from members to help me decide.

Guess it depends on your definition of bench top. My first one was this one http://www.axminster.co.uk/downloads/awsbs_manual.pdf and I have still got it as it is a damn good little saw. I did fit the aftermarket fence which money well spent.

Whichever one you get I recommend that you :

(a) throw away the blade that comes with it and buy a new one from TuffSaws

(b) get hold of Steve Maskery's DVD on setting up a bandsaw and other goodies.
