I'm looking to spend around £600 on a table saw (good second hand ideal) but I can't seem to find one one the usual selling places anywhere near me. I'm looking at Kity or Axminster but would really appreciate any suggestions. It's for usual workshop use (not a business). Was thinking about going for an FS55 Plunge saw instead but not sure that would do everything I wanted. Any views or suggestions appreciated.

HI,
don't know what depth of cut you get with a plunge saw,and would you be able to rip a 2x 1 with it, without serious consideration.
I currently own a kity 419 which has a 65 depth of cut , and I am very happy with it being the only tb I have ever owned done everything i have asked of it over ten years
but I'M having trouble sourcing a blade for it , but I have been advised to keep it because
because a replacement for it would be around 600 bucks, so I reckon u can get a decent saw for your money

DeWalt 745. Comes in at about £450.

I have it’s slightly larger version 7491 that cost £699 last year.

It’s a great piece of kit, accurate, really nice rack and pinion fence system. Only downside is it’s seriously loud.

Thank you - I had been looking at a 419 that I was offered for reasoanble money but I read about the blade problem, and it ahs no guard. That has kind of put me off as I don't want to really get stuck not being able to source a blade.

just curious to know why blades are a problem to find, from what i have read on the specs, they take a 200mm blade with 30mm bore,

back to the plot , the kity is still a **** hot saw it's very precise. it has large extension tables that can be mounted either side or all on 1 side , you also have a sliding carriage which the dewalt ain't got
I have mine for sale on ebay just not got the room to use the carriage plus I have a makita compound mitre saw which can crosscut over 300 mm far more than my cutting needs , there;s a draper(cts200) which offers the same sort of thing as the kity (but wait for some reviews before diving in) but i emailed the supplier on ebay and he said he could NOT supply the blades for the draper so same problem there then, also been to draper website and no luck there either
not really had a good look at today's saws so i don't know what to suggest

if it's the riving knife that's too thick, then the obvious solution is to either replace it or make it thinner, i would imagine out of the many 419 owners and users the majority would have got round it somehow, also it is only the bit above the table that needs to be rectified, so using a grinder, or belt sander would be the simplest and easiest way, but it still needs to be thicker than the blade you want to use, fwiw i would have a selection of riving knives of varying thickness as this opens up the blade choices available,

and as for the workshop in the kitchen that was her idea (eventually, after careful manipulation in that direction),

Thanks for the pointers. I will give the Kity 419 a miss - wondering whether I need to up my budget and go for the Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2. I will have a think whilst watching to see if anything comes up for sale on here. Many thanks

You should be able to get a Startrite tilt arbour or maybe a Wadkin AGS for that price. Might need to keep your eyes peeled and be patient though.

There is single phase Mini Max on ebay. Not pretty but a good way to get a class machine for a knock down price.

Thanks I don't know much about Startrite so will have to read up on them. I've usually stuck to Axminster and Kity but just restarting workshop after a few years and having to buy everything again is a pain!
