A scrub would probably do the job BB in the initial stage, but I think there would soon come a point where it wouldn't cut and you'd then need to go onto something like the curved sole woodie. As it is, by backing off the iron on the woodie I can get down to within roughly a mm so it'll be scrapers next - Rob
 
Rob, that is nice round you have made - just need to finish the rest of the set now..

If doing it by hand I think I would have used my largest (11/2'') round on this job and scraped out any ridges I hadn't planed.

TBH I would have first cut most of the waste away with a dado blade in the TS.. I did one similar not too long ago in some project or other one of the grandchildren needed.
