I've been off the forum for a fair few months due to a variety of reasons - mostly work related.
Now I'm back, life is decidedly less manic and some things have changed in the world of Zed's Ded Hed.

As most who run their own business will know it's easy for work to become all consuming and finding an appropriate work/life balance can see like a fairytale.

So when a very good customer of mine who is a local builder offered me an opportunity to work for him as a project manager and mentioned a company car, no weekends and most of all quite a few pounds on a regular basis I couldn't say no.

I still have the joinery business which at the moment gives me the opportunity to 'tinker' and carry out a few selected projects principally for enjoyment.

So on to the opportunities.....

On the building side of things a serious recruitment drive is underway to broaden and deepen our 'little black book' of subcontractors.

Right now we have work for Chippies, kitchen fitters, carpenters, chippies and woodworkers. You get the picture.
Also, general 'multitrades, plumbers, bathroom fitters, electricians, plasterers, decorators, brickies and did I mention chippies?
I'm also looking for someone to potentially work in the workshop making built ins, the odd door and frame, occasional windows and staircases.

At the moment all of these positions are offered on a self employed (CIS) basis but on the cards employment may become an option for the right individual.

We're based in Kent near Maidstone and work all over the South East. At the moment a lot of our work is in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area.
If anyone is interested in an initial chat then send me a PM.

Mods, I read the forum rules and couldn't find anything saying this sort of post is not allowed. If I read wrong then feel free to cyber-spank me and I'll retreat with my tail between my legs.

Modedit: Go for it Zed.....great to see some positive vibes on the work front.

Don't you bloomin' dare!

Really good thought to post - hope you find someone suitable via here. Ideally it would be brilliant for both parties.

PS: My other half spends thousands annually advertising posts in her small business, and all it seems to get her is a deluge of CVs - if you can avoid that, more power to you!

Congratulations, hope it works out really well...and that you keep right on making stuff in your spare time!

Good luck!

I got my current job through this forum, 2.5 years later and I haven't looked back. Started off making a few bits for a kitchen and now running my own large jobs, with guys working for me! Still get to make some cool furniture in an awesome work shop!

Sadly no company car!!

Thanks for answering the question of where have you been. Best of luck with the new venture!
