A little turning job.....

I was wondering if anyone could possibly turn up a couple of 3" lengths of 8.5mm dia zebrano dowel for me? I need to plug some 8mm holes but guess they might be slightly oversize....8.5mm allows me to sand down for a tight fit. I can supply the zebrano.

Would beer money or a donation to a charity of your choice be sufficient recompense? Or if you are into pens then I could send you a larger piece of zebrano for your own use.

Roger, not sure that sanding down makes a lot of sense?

depending on how thick the material you are looking to plug is, but with any depth I would use a slight taper to the plug rather than 'sanding'.

equally, it should be straight forward to measure the required diameter to a little closer than 8 or 8.5?
