They are absolutely stunning - fabulously made - I agree about a wip! Favourite woods for me are the bubinga - could imagine a glorious old Windsor chair in that, paduk - so warm, and the Indian rosewood I could almost catch a whiff of incense from an old armoire ... cocobolo is extraordinary but almost seems schizophrenic! Though one rather reminded me of Mick Jagger's lips! Thank you for sharing. 8)
 
I had a identical fail like your Palm wood one, so I made these for the wife from the bits.

3 coats of sealer to the inside to stop transfer from wax to wood or vice versa .


Thanks, I also notice that you turn them cross grain and not the usual end grain used with boxes, any special reason, other than availability of wood?
