So annoyed! .. I came up with this idea when I was in my garage. I thought, this is it! .. this will make me a *BILLIONAIRE!!!. But no! .. damn things already exist!

Anyway - my idea was the same as the Rockler ones :

It's a shame as the Rockler ones look really good!

You do know that Rockler ship to the UK, their website even gives the prices in pounds if you select the right option.

i think that if i was going for one of these, i would instead go for something like this http://www.veritastools.com/Products/Page.aspx?p=136

Then, if you suddenly needed one that was 2m long, you only need to drill a couple of holes in each of 2 pieces of long timber

I still don't understand why they work though. I would have thought that the thread on the large portion would bite into the wood cauls preventing them from pulling down.
