Got these four new saws yesterday for a pound each.

All are a bit beat up but not much rust on them.

They are a spear and Jackson 14''
Tyzack and sons 12''
Sorby 12''
Drabble and Sanderson dovetail.

The drabble and Sanderson dovetail saw's plate needs aligning. Is it best to take it apart or just pit it in a vice and hit the spine.

The handles feel so nice in the hand compared to modern saws.

Your links are broken fella. Using Imgur, upload your pic as usual, hover your cursor over the picture while still in Imgur. See the little down arrow? Hover your cursor on that, see the drop down list? Click the 'get share links' option. You'll see four share options, click the one that says BBCode. Right click in your thread on here and paste. Job done. Picture posted. Bosh. ;)

Nice little haul there. As for adjusting the back all i would do is rap the back of the saw on the bench top and then check the saw plate, keep doing this until you are happy.

Thanks, I have followed the link and it has sorted it out nicely.

Now for a few hours filing.

There is a similar Drabble and Sanderson saw on ebay fro £140, I think I will keep it though as its got such a great feel.

Might try and sell the Spear and Jackson, are the older ones worth much?
