Some of the more obvious spam, tends to use the "unsubscribe" link as a proof of life for an email address and then sends you more :lol:
Yep, best to use those couple of seconds to mark sender as junk insead of using the unsubscribe link, then you still don't see them but the other end doesn't know that, nor get an indication it's an active account.

Also, unsubscribe doesn't mean delete me - if you formally request that they delete your account compltely they are supposed to do so, EU comapnies anyway, but probably don't, really... (most systems mark records as deleted, not delete them - they want to be able to go back and look at what the deleted account did in case of legal stuff, you can't delete an account without deleting the logs associated (database consistency rules generally enforce this) so delete is almost never really a delete, it's just the same database record, but with a deleted flag set.
