Hi guys

I have been asked to build a wardrobe that is 1500mm wide and 2000mm high and overall 700mm in depth. the doors would be 18mm thick and end up spray painted white.

The client wants to have only two doors, normally i would split this into three doors to a more practical width of around 500mm for each door.

Do you think that doors at around 700mm in width and 18mm would be ok if i put extra hinges on it ?

many thanks

Martyn

My immediate thought beyond the weight is the distance they will encroach into the room. Is there enough space? Have you considered sliding doors?

I'm sure an extra hinge or two would help but it just seems that a door that big would also be inconvenient from an ergonomic perspective.

Hi @toonarmy1987 yes there is plenty of space for opening, the room its in is around 6m square so no worries there.

I'm about to suggest sliding doors to the client but just wanted to get a second opinion first.
