100mm dowel/wooden cylinder

I am looking for a short length of the above, so that i can amuse myself by making a primitive barrel organ under the pretence of amusing my granddaughter. If all else fails, I was thinking of using a section of wooden rolling pin, but would like something bigger, say around 100mm diameter. Any ideas what I might be able to find to re-purpose? Looking for cheap option.

If you don't mind them being treated, you could try round fencing posts e.g.

If you google 100 mm round fencing posts there are lots of stockists.

Phil's got the right idea. Put some dimentions together with a drawing and post it on the turning forum. I'm sure someone will help? Shame I'm not a lot closer or I would do it for you.

I just thought? I for one would be interested in your barrel organ. Do you have any plans or is it an 'as you go' project??
