I have a nice little 1/4" drive socket set - ratchet, tommy bar, universal joint, extensions.

Very handy.

I would like to be able to use it with 1/4" hex screw driver bits.

Are 1/4" square driver to 1/4" hex driver adapters available?

I've googled, but it's a very difficult search.

Wera 8784A1. A little bit long but a good bit of kit.

Our posts crossed. Searching for that led me to a "Draper Expert" equivalent (Draper Expert 31998), which I think will do me nicely.

The reviews of the Draper part on Amazon are amusing.

Some people love it, and some people say it's junk which fell apart or broke.

I was worried about the latter, until I read other reviews saying it was very useful with their IMPACT DRIVER.

So I think I know why some 1/4" socket adapters are breaking. :)

My 1/4" Bahco set has one in it, so they make them - whether they sell them separately I don't know.
I have a ratchet that takes them directly - it's great because it's so compact.

or, and this might seem crazy, you could use a 1/4" socket. :) I know, insane idea.

I've got 5 or a million of these adapters, I'll have a dig, if I've got a spare you can have it for free, just let me know your address.

My 1/4 socket set is metric - no 1/4" hex socket!!

Thanks very much for the offer, but I'd already ordered from eBay.

£2.95 including P+P. Don't ask me how they make a living.

because they are made in the millions and cost about 2p each to the supplier. 2 quid of that is postage so they make 93p per item, they sell them in the hundreds, makes sense. :)

ah, my sets are both metric and imperial, I still work on old English cars and american junk occasionally. :)

sorry I wasn't quicker. :)
